The
inaugural RAeS Canberra Branch Biennial award
(2008) for excellence in aviation will be presented at a dinner at University
House on 23 October. The winner has been selected and notified,
and will make a presentation on the subject of the award. The name of
the winner remains embargoed until the night but we believe that the nomination
was a strong one and the presentation is topical and will be of interest to all
members.
For planning purpose we need to know
numbers as soon as possible although payment ($70 per head) can be delayed until
17 October at the latest. If you (and your partner/guest) intend coming we
would be grateful if you could advise Robin Stanier (02 62863655 or

)as soon
as possible if you haven't already done so.
We strongly urge you to attend and make
this inaugural event a success.
Payments can be made to RAeS by posting a
cheque/postal order made out to Royal Aeronautical Society Canberra Branch to
the Robin Stanier at 20
Gouger Street St TORRENS ACT 2607, or by electronic transfer to the RAeS
account at Westpac. The account details are BSB 732 719, account number 07 2375,
account name Royal Aeronautical Society Canberra Branch. In the event of an
electronic transfer please identify the payment with your name or let Robin
Stanier know when and where the payment has been made so that the payment can be
identified.
Please advise any special seating
requirements or dietary requirements you may have.
If you have already responded to an earlier invitation I apologise
for including you on this distribution, but whether or not you can attend the
function please help by promoting it to your colleagues. To that end I've
attached a poster which we ask everyone to print and display anywhere
suitable.
Importantly this event and most other Branch events are open to all
with an interest in aviation.
