Canberra Aero Club aims to bring together people with a common interest in aviation in order to enjoy and experience the challenge and freedom of flight as safely as possible. The Club believes that sharing aviation with people from all walks of life not only makes us better pilots but better people too. So come down to the Club and have a look at our aircraft, talk to our members or share a flight with one of our pilots.

Operating since 1938, the Canberra Aero Club is one of the oldest Aero Clubs in Australia. We are situated at Canberra Airport and enjoy being able to fly in both controlled and uncontrolled airspace. We are less than an hour’s flight to the southern NSW coast and close by to the Snowy Mountain ski fields. Flying throughout the wide and scenic spaces of the Murray-Darling Basin is also enjoyed by our member pilots.

The club operates a growing fleet of aircraft available for hire. We try and maintain a fleet that caters across different pilot budgets. With over 100 members, a great location and an increasing fleet of aircraft, we create an ideal environment for members and visitors alike.

Hi everyone and all the new members,

Tomorrow is our little monthly casual get together at Civic Pub on Lonsdale Street Braddon. We have a standing booking there for every first Thursday of the month from 6pm. I'll be there from about 5:30 tomorrow because I've got a show I have to shoot off too at 7. Hope to see you all there to meet all our new members.

In addition to the monthly drinks/dinner is our quarterly semi-formal (ie. everyone make an effort to get to this one) dinner. Here we will have special guests and speakers and spend a relaxed evening together discussing all things AeroClub. Partners/guests/interested parties are encouraged to join this event. The next one is in 3 weeks on the 24th of June at Kingo Hotel in KingstonThe evening will commence from 6:30pm.  https://goo.gl/RLjLyJ

That's all for right now. All planes are fully operational, and we are having some beautiful days and evenings lately. I personally flew 3.9hours last night in the process of renewing my NVFR rating with Lyn and Mark at Cowra. It was freezing but so smooth and full moon. We could make out the crop circles from 6500feet at 10:30pm.

See you all tomorrow.
