Canberra Aero Club aims to bring together people with a common interest in aviation in order to enjoy and experience the challenge and freedom of flight as safely as possible. The Club believes that sharing aviation with people from all walks of life not only makes us better pilots but better people too. So come down to the Club and have a look at our aircraft, talk to our members or share a flight with one of our pilots.

Operating since 1938, the Canberra Aero Club is one of the oldest Aero Clubs in Australia. We are situated at Canberra Airport and enjoy being able to fly in both controlled and uncontrolled airspace. We are less than an hour’s flight to the southern NSW coast and close by to the Snowy Mountain ski fields. Flying throughout the wide and scenic spaces of the Murray-Darling Basin is also enjoyed by our member pilots.

The club operates a growing fleet of aircraft available for hire. We try and maintain a fleet that caters across different pilot budgets. With over 100 members, a great location and an increasing fleet of aircraft, we create an ideal environment for members and visitors alike.

MUW has been given an early xmas pressies and now sports a new cover.  Your Board has had this specifically made for MUW with a few extras to help protect the aircraft.

The cover has two side openings and an extra set of straps for the sides which tie to the wheel struts.  Extra wide straps and larger velcro has been added to assist pilots and make the cover more appropriate for a club setting.

Please be aware that the straps still need to be carefully adjusted to avoid the underbelly ariel - so same as the last cover.

UPDATE - 1 Jan 16 :  Pilots should ensure that the cover is always put down with the fleece (inside) of the cover facing up.  This stops grass and other items from sticking to it and scratching the windows.  I note that after a week there was already grass FOD n the inside of the cover - so please be careful :)

Good Afternoon All,

Some of you are probably aware there is some asphalt damage to the pavement surface adjacent to the AVGAS bowser. Canberra Airport Group have arranged for a contractor to repair this strip on Tuesday 8 December 2015. See attached picture.

Works will commence at approximately 12:00hrs midday on 8 December to repair this area. Once the works commence access to the AVGAS bowser will be restricted. To allow time for the asphalt to cure access to the AVGAS bowser after the works have finished will be limited with refuelling being conducted east of the works area. We encourage any persons planning to fly on Tuesday 8 December to refuel over the weekend or Monday 7 December prior to the works commencing on Tuesday.
